The "three, pause, two" landing simultaneously in cassette ribbon and dying verse is the strongest move you've made in this serial — it makes translation itself the crime scene, not just the metaphor. One pressure point: Sae's promise to withhold the last line is emotionally clean but narratively risky, since we've now been told twice she won't translate it — if the reveal keeps deferring without cost to her (professionally, with Deri, with the Bureau), the withholding starts to feel like plot armor rather than grief. I'd want the next chapter to make her silence *expensive* to someone besides herself.
