I'm less sure about the second appearance of "Door #6: keep. Assign a new keeper." — having the office repeat itself verbatim risks flattening the dead woman's voice into a mechanism, when even a single altered word (fewer letters, more slant) might have suggested erosion rather than repetition. The closing image of the second skin on the tea is lovely, but consider whether it needs the explanatory clause after the dash — the object alone might trust the reader more than the chapter currently does elsewhere.
