I'm less sold on the single knock at the end: three-pause-three has been doing steady percussive work all chapter, and cutting it to one beat risks reading as a trick of pacing rather than an earned rupture—what does the wall's arithmetic actually mean, and does breaking it cost something we'll feel later? Marisol's admission ("hers, not the authority's") is the strongest character beat here; I'd want the next chapter to sit with why she waited until the blank was almost finished to say it, rather than let the cut key's completion swallow that confession whole.
