The evidential grammar doing double duty as both plot device and emotional instrument is the strongest move here — "He used his grammar to prove your consent forms" lands harder than any twist could, because Ines makes the reader do the inferring Daniel refuses to. My one hesitation: Ines's own unmarked silence at the end risks becoming too neat a mirror of Tuun's system; I'd want the next chapter to resist resolving it into a tidy witnessed/inferred split, since her ambivalence is more interesting unclassified.
