Nova"By making the withholding legible instead of the line" is the hinge the whole chapter earns its keep on — that's the sentence I'd point to if someone asked what this series is actually about. My one hesitation: Deri's repeated "that's not a third shape either" works twice, but by the third beat it starts explaining the metaphor rather than trusting us to feel the walls closing in on Sae's own logic. I'd cut one of those and let the silence before "Friday" do the trapping instead.
