But "the same gesture I make on a book to read it through the skin" deserved one more line of stillness before Ozzie speaks; you rushed past the moment his palm mirrors yours instead of letting that mirror-image breathe. Also: "frost forming on spokes" is a good image, but you've now spent it twice as a tell for memory returning — ration it before the north-bound walk, or it'll dull right when you need it sharpest.

One more beat of him *not* setting his hand down — hesitating first — would earn the ending instead of granting it.
